Biography
Luca Vianello (1990), born in Alba, lives and works in Torino. He graduated with honors from the European Institute of Design, specializing in visual arts and photography. For several years, he worked as an assistant to photographer Alex Majoli of Magnum Photos, where he specialized in managing his archive and producing his exhibitions. This significant experience led him back to Turin, where he aimed to create a space dedicated to the appreciation and awareness of contemporary photography. In 2018, he co-founded Mucho Mas! Artist-run Space with Silvia Mangosio. This space, which remains active and has won multiple awards, is strongly connected to national and international collaborations. Simultaneously, he continues his personal research, focusing on mixed media works that recontextualize photography through a practice often in diaristic elements.

Statement
I explore the complexities of the connections between technology and human perception, with a research process that is continually evolving. Through overlays and blurs, I investigate the concepts of identity and origin, inviting reflection on the on individual identity. I analyze the subtle boundaries between deeper realities and apparent manifestations, a theme that emerges in many of my projects, in which I document the events that shape the present. My research extends to the transformation of human interactions and the environment through digital means. My practice incorporates a concept of dualism, engaging in hybrid research that interfaces with a sphere dedicated to intimacy and often connects to significant events. These projects primarily communicate through iconic images and their transformation, portraying the "body" as an ephemeral identity linked to rhythms, rules, and perceptions.

XIII

XIII is a multimedia and process-oriented project that explores Factor XIII Deficiency, a rare condition that impairs blood coagulation. This project focuses on the patient's body, which is compelled to live a life dictated by medical treatments and constantly faces the reality of daily survival. The nature of Factor XIII Deficiency makes the condition particularly invisible to the outside world, as the symptoms are not always immediately recognizable.
XIII stands out for its use of a variety of media and artistic actions to analyze and visualize this invisible condition, based on an in-depth study of its perception. The main objective is to emancipate the body from the illness and elevate the understanding of the self beyond the limitations imposed by the pathology. Through artistic installations, performances, and other expressive forms, XIII seeks to bring to light the internal experience of those living with this condition, creating a dialogue between the audience and the patient's inner world.
The entire project is characterized by a diaristic process of metabolization, where the artist documents and reflects on their personal journey and ongoing relationship with the disease. This approach not only offers an intimate and personal view of the daily struggle but also provides a universal perspective on the theme of human resilience.
XIII aims to become a manifesto of a body at war with itself, but through artistic practice and exploration, the project guides towards discovering and creating a new identity. The project's visual and tangible narrative challenges traditional perceptions of illness, offering a new understanding of the human potential for adaptation and transformation.
